Who are MiSight Lenses for?

MiSight Contact Lenses are soft, daily disposable lenses that are used to correct near-sightedness. This means that you open a new pair in the morning, wear them throughout the day, and take them out at the end of the day (and bring discarded lenses and packaging to us to recycle!).

MiSight Soft Contact Lenses have been shown in a clinical study to slow the progression of nearsightedness (myopia) in children who initiated treatment when 8 – 12 years old. As long as a child can be responsible enough to understand the importance of proper contact lens hygiene, there is no age limit on who can wear them.

Mi-Sight lenses are available for patients with the following prescription:

  • Spherical spectacle prescription of between -0.75D and -4.00D
  • Astigmatism of up to and including 0.75D
  • Prescription ranges are available up to -10.00D, but were not included in the myopia progression study

Mi-Sight is ideal for:

  • People who want clear natural vision all day – every day
  • Sporty or active people
  • Young Myopes- MiSight contact lenses can slow the rate of myopia progression, as proven in a 7 year clinical trial
  • People who have considered laser surgery but are worried about the risks
  • People who find specs inconvenient or hard contact lenses too uncomfortable

The Science behind MiSight

– Safe, comfortable and effective vision correction

MiSight lenses are worn throughout the day and taken out during the evening, before sleep.

The 7 year clinical trial led to rigorous scientific evidence to support the claim that they can slow myopia progression by approximately 50%. They feature 2 optical correction zones, and 2 “treatment zones”, which provide 2.00D of myopic defocus, which helps slow eye elongation.

It is never too late to start wearing MiSight lenses for myopia control, but earlier treatment is best; the treatment benefits continue to accumulate as long as the eyes are growing, so can be worn into early adulthood.

Myopia Management Studies

The number of children developing myopia across the world has substantially grown in a very short space of time. In some parts of the world myopia is at epidemic levels. In Europe 30% of children will develop myopia.

If myopia is left to progress, become worse, it can lead to serious complications with vision in later life. The National Institue of Health estimates that by the year 2050, 50% of the worlds population will be myopic, so it is fantastic that we have so many Myopia Control options available for young people.
