Prescription sports safety glasses can ensure that you can play with corrected vision, whilst also reducing the risk of eye injury from the tennis ball. 

However, feedback from our customers on prescription sports glasses for tennis has been mixed due to reduced apertures and field of vision, therefore we suggest looking at prescription sunglasses designed for sport, or disposable contact lenses. 

Prescription sunglasses can reduce glare in strong sunlight and provide protection from UV rays whilst playing tennis outdoors. We stock a large range of tinted and photochromic sunglasses suitable for tennis players who prefer these, many of which are available with prescription lenses.

Plexiglass or polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant lenses and are able to sustain the impact of a tennis ball or racquet. Some models feature lenses that are designed to pop outwards after impact, to protect the eye from the lens.

A specially designed temple (the bit that goes behind your ear) provides extra grip, helping to hold your frames in place. Some sports sunglasses feature an interchangeable temple and strap. We can also supply sports straps to attach to your existing glasses to make them more secure when playing sports.

We recommend that serious tennis players who are unable to play without vision correction consider being fitted with contact lenses, even if only for when they are playing tennis.
